UPDATE PRIVACY POLICY AND COOKIES NOTICE

I am doing my best to comply with the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). The host of Cocoa & Lavender, Blogger (Google), is GDPR compliant.

I want you to know that I will never share your information with anyone unless you specifically ask me in writing to do so. I write Cocoa & Lavender on a weekly basis solely to share my love of food with you. I do not monetize Cocoa & Lavender, and make no money from publishing it.

Information you provide: when you sign up to receive the weekly emails form Cocoa & Lavender, you provide me solely with your email address. If you comment on Cocoa and Lavender posts, you might provide me with: your name, email address, and website address. Your information includes anything which identifies you.

Information I collect: I collect your information when you: interact or correspond with me via email or via my blog, subscribe to my mailing list, or leave comments on Cocoa & Lavender.

I use your information lawfully and I never have or will never sell or share your information to third parties.

When I have your consent to contact you, which you give when you sign up to receive my weekly notifications of blog posts, I may use your information to send you weekly notices of new posts, or for relevant information such as an email about GDPR compliance.

WHO CAN SEE YOUR INFORMATION?
Only I have access to your information, and the only information of yours that I can see is your email address, unless you provide me with your name and website address when leaving a comment. In comments, only your name is posted but if you have a website, Blogger will make your name a live link to your site. Feedburner, which provides subscriptions services for Blogger, allows me access only to your email address; I cannot associate it with your name unless you supply that information to me in a separate email or comment on a post. I may process your information on behalf of Cocoa & Lavender. Processing can mean any activity that involves the use of information about someone that can identify them. All uses of your information – for example, obtaining, recording, storing, disclosing, organizing, retrieving, deleting and destroying – are types of data processing.

I take measures to ensure that third parties who process your information on behalf of Cocoa & Lavender are acting lawfully in accordance with my instructions and are subject to appropriate confidentiality requirements. Through Blogger (Google), I also have adequate technical and organizational safeguards with third party processors to protect your information. Third party processors of your information consists Cocoa & Lavender’s host and operator.

WHEN DO I SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?
I do not share, nor have I ever shared, your information.

HOW LONG DO I KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
I will retain your information for as long as is necessary to provide you with the services that you have requested from me – an email to receive my weekly post. If you email me with a question, I answer you promptly and delete the email as soon as the correspondence is complete. 

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES?

Your Right to Withdraw Consent – at any time you may unsubscribe to Cocoa and Lavender by clicking the link at the bottom of the emails you receive. You will be removed immediately (and automatically) from my mailing list.

Your Other Rights and Choices – in addition, you can also request access to the information that I hold about you to check that I am acting lawfully, receive a copy of any information I hold about you in a format of your choice, ask me to correct information I hold about you if it is inaccurate or incomplete, ask me to delete information I hold about you, and ask me to restrict processing of your information. You may exercise your rights and choices by contacting me directly at cocoaandlavender@gmail.com.

My primary goal in collecting personal information from you is to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and personalized experience while reading my blog.

Through Feedburner, a web analytics tool to analyze site usage, how you as a user arrive at my blog,  what browser you are using, and on what operating system, etc. However, this analytics data, collected via a JavaScript tag in the pages of our site, is not tied to personally identifiable information.
