Time for Another Cooking Class!

A couple of months ago, I introduced you to the Tucson Village Farm and their Healthy Living Ambassadors (HLA) teen leadership program. I taught a benefit cooking class to raise money for HLA, and we all had a blast and, together, raised over $3000 to support the almost 200 teens in the program! Thank you to everyone who attended, and to those who could not attend but made donations. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

I guess they were happy with me because we have scheduled another in-person, benefit class this summer on Thursday, June 13 from 4:00-6:00. Please join me for ¡Tapas! The small bites of tapas are a great way to entertain in the summer months.

I plan to demonstrate (and share tastes of) three wonderful recipes: Salmorejo (a chilled tomato bread soup that can be used several ways); Huevos en Salsa de Almendras (eggs in almond sauce); and Papas Arrugadas (salt-crusted potatoes with dipping sauce). Each of these dishes highlights the incredible flavors of Spain — and the Tucson Village Farm market.

Again, I know this benefits our local Tucson community, so thank you to all my worldwide subscribers for reading this. NB: If your community has a program like this, please support it and make a difference for the young people where you live. If you are so moved by Tucson’s program, you are welcome to make a gift through their website, Support the Healthy Living Ambassadors. (Write in 4-H HLA as the designation)

It would be so much fun to have you here, but you’d probably make me nervous! I’m hoping this class is as much as a success as the last one.
